ABOUT TRA'ZAE

TRAZA’E CLINTON is a celebrated, third-generation P-Funk rapper, singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist born and raised in Los Angeles. The grandson of funk pioneer GEORGE CLINTON and son of musician TRACEY LEWIS CLINTON, he grew up immersed in the music and musicians surrounding PARLIAMENT-FUNKADELIC. He produced his first record, “TECNO PIMP,” at nine years old, performing on the track alongside his mother and father, and spent his childhood writing, recording and learning instruments while developing as a rapper and singer.

For three years, TRAZA’E lived with his grandfather in Tallahassee, Florida, where he studied percussion in his school marching band, playing snare, bass drum and quads. His musical education extended well beyond school. On one memorable afternoon, he discovered a drum kit downstairs at home and began playing, unaware that RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS were visiting GEORGE CLINTON. When the band entered the room and TRAZA’E stopped, they encouraged him to keep playing. After moving to Las Vegas, he continued studying and playing multiple instruments while writing, rapping, singing and producing his own music.

By his teens, TRAZA’E was recording full-length projects of his own, including THE G and THE G 2 C, the latter influenced by both his father and grandfather. At 17, he began touring with GEORGE CLINTON and PARLIAMENT-FUNKADELIC, eventually performing as a featured MC within the P-Funk live show. That relationship also moved into the studio.

TRAZA’E co-wrote material for FUNKADELIC’s 2014 album FIRST YA GOTTA SHAKE THE GATE, the group’s first studio album in more than three decades, and contributed extensively to PARLIAMENT’s MEDICAID FRAUD DOGG as a composer, engineer, keyboardist, vocalist and synth player.

Alongside his work with PARLIAMENT-FUNKADELIC, TRAZA’E has maintained an independent career spanning hip-hop, funk, R&B and experimental music. His catalog includes numerous albums, EPs and singles, with TRAZA’E frequently moving between writing, vocals, instrumentation and production.

TRAZA’E has developed an ongoing creative partnership with international recording artist, the St. Lucian music icon D.B.L. Their work together includes “TIME TO BREAK AWAY,” produced by TRAZA’E, their 2026 release “WIND UP,” and the title song for SANDRA LORD’s acclaimed social-impact short film, CINNAMON.

Their records draw naturally from both artists’ backgrounds, bringing TRAZA’E’s funk and hip-hop foundation together with D.B.L.’s Caribbean-rooted sound across rap, R&B, dancehall and contemporary production.

His work with multi-instrumentalist WILLIAM THOREN as GORANGUTANG grew out of freestyle sessions while touring with P-Funk, developing into a project that brings the musical foundation of funk into conversation with hip-hop and other contemporary influences.

Today, TRAZA’E’s work spans solo records, production, songwriting, live performance and continuing projects within the PARLIAMENT-FUNKADELIC family. His career began inside an extraordinary musical lineage, taking him from making his first record at nine and touring with P-Funk as a teenager to contributing to new PARLIAMENT and FUNKADELIC recordings and producing an extensive catalog of his own.

Across each of those settings, TRAZA’E remains a musician first, moving comfortably between the microphone, drums, keyboards, synthesizers and the recording studio.
