Nigerian-born WaveDave is an artist and producer whose music moves fluidly across Afropop, hip-hop, R&B and the sounds of contemporary African music.
He began writing and rapping at 14 and made his recorded introduction with Dripping in 2017. Since then, WaveDave has steadily built a catalogue that includes his 2018 debut album What You Take Me For, the 2021 Afropop project Godbody, and releases including African Girl, On My Mind, Folake, My City and Peace Signs.
His work as both a recording artist and producer reflects the dual cultural perspective at the heart of his sound, bringing together his South African upbringing and Nigerian roots without being confined to a single genre. In 2026, WaveDave returned with Sweet Nothings, featuring Eddie Soul and DEEP$, continuing an evolution that has taken him from a teenage rapper finding his voice to a multidisciplinary artist developing a sound distinctly his own.
